Ήρθε ο καιρός πιστεύω να μιλίσουμε και για λίγη black metal.
Ήρθε ο καιρός να μιλίσω για το μεγαλύτερο αλάνι στο χώρο αυτό, για τον Burzum.
Ο Varg Vikernes (Burzum), έθεσε τις βάσεις για το black-metal κατά τη δεκαετία του '90 και υπήρξε η μεγαλύτερη επιρροή για όλες τις black-metal μπάντες που έθεταν σιγά-σιγά τις βάσεις τους εκείνη την περίοδο.
Μιλάμε για έναν καυλωμένο, καχεκτικό-ασπριδερό Νορβηγό ψυχάκια, ο οποίος έκαψε έναν μεγάλο αριθμό εκκλησιών στο πέρασμά του και σαν να μην έφταναν όλα αυτά, στη συνέχεια σκότωσε τον ''φίλο'' και συνεργάτη του Oystein Aarseth a.k.a Euronymous, ο οποίος ήταν ο κιθαρίστας και συνιδριτής της φανταστικής μπάντας Mayhem, τους οποίους αν δεν τους ξέρετε η δεν έχετε ακούσει να τρέξετε αυτή τη στιγμή και να τους μάθετε. Οι λόγοι για τους οποίους σκότωσε τον Aarseth, είχαν καθαρά πολιτικό περιεχόμενο, αφού όπως λέγεται οι δυό τους βρίσκονταν σε αντίθετες πλευρές ιδεοντολογικά και πολιτικά. Μετά το θάνατο του Aarseth, ο Burzum καταδικάστηκε και φυλακίστηκε για 21 χρόνια. Υπάρχει και σχετικό βίντεο στο οποίο ο Burzum χαμογελάει ειρωνικά κατα τη διάρκεια που η δικαστίνα, του δίνει απλόχερα 21 χρονάκια μέσα στη στενή για να αναλογιστεί το πόσο κάφρος είναι...
Το 1992 και το 1993 ηχογράφησε 4 άλμπουμ στα οποία σε ένα από αυτά, έβαλε σαν εξώφυλλο μία από τις εκκλησίες που έκαψε. Αρνιόταν πάντα τις φήμες που τον ήθελαν σατανιστή, καθώς διέψευσε κάθετα όποια γνώμη τον ήθελε να παίρνει μέρος σε σατανιστικές οργανώσεις.

Τη διάρκεια που βρίσκονταν κλειδαμπαρωμένος στις φυλακές, ηχογράφησε άλλα 2 αλμπουμάκια dark-ambient ύφους, μόνο με τη βοήθεια ενός synthesizer, λόγω της απουσίας των μουσικών οργάνων που δεν είχε στην διάθεσή του.
Μεγάλο αλάνι ο Burzum, η μουσική του κατατάσεται στην black-metal genious και όχι στη metal μουσική που ακούνε κάτι φλώροι hypsteroblackάδες που τριγυρνάνε εκεί έξω σήμερα, ίσως να φάω κράξιμο από πολλούς metalheads αλλά έτσι είναι τα πράγματα...

Τα χρόνια πέρασαν, ο Burzum βγήκε από την φυλακή στα 16 χρόνια και ετοίμασε το καινούργιο του άλμπουμ, το ονόμασε Belus και όταν κυκλοφόρησε το 2010 έγινε της πουτάνας.
Δυστυχώς δεν βρήκα κάποιο άλλο link εκτός από torrent, όποτε μέχρι στιγμής όποιος θέλει μπορεί να κατεβάσει το Belus από εδώ

Καλησπέρες...

Ένα πολύ παράξενο πράγμα που παρατήρησα τον τελευταίο καιρό που βρίσκομαι στα Βαλκάνια, είναι ο ταχύτατος ρυθμός ανάπτυξης στον μουσικό τομέα, είναι ένα πράγμα φανταστικό και πραγματικά αληθινό. Τους 3 τελευταίους μήνες, τα αυτιά μου έχουν γλυκαθεί από φανταστικές δουλειές καλλιτεχνών, οι οποίοι έχουν να προσφέρουν πολλά στην μουσική της Ευρώπης. Δυστυχώς όμως, τα χρήματα θα είναι πάντα ο μεγάλος, αν όχι ο μεγαλύτερος παράγοντας, που παίζει τον σημαντικότερο ρόλο στην εξάπλωση αυτών των πολύ σημαντικών ονομάτων για την μουσική της Ευρώπης. Από την άλλη πλευρά όμως πολύ σημαντικό ρόλο παίζει η αφοσίωση και η επιμονή, δύο πάρα πολύ εξίσου σημαντικοί παράγοντες οι οποίοι θα σε βοηθήσουν να ξεχωρίσεις πολύ γρήγορα.

Οι Shitpop, είναι μια φρέσκια μπάντα από την Φιλιππούπολη της Βουλγαρίας. Αποτελείται από τον Nick Bone (κιθάρα) και την Froxie (φωνητικά). Ορεξάτοι, καλοσυνάτοι και πάνω απ' όλα φιλόξενοι, πλυμμηρισμένοι από τη δημιουργία για καινούργια πράγματα, πράγμα που τους κάνει να ξεχωρίζουν από πολλές μπάντες και άλλα διάφορα projects που λαμβάνουν μέρος στη Βουλγαρία. Κατέχουν το garage με μεγάλο ταλέντο, είναι δυναμικοί και είναι πάντα στη διάθεση να ξεσηκώσουν κόσμο, για την ώρα έχουν κάποια demo κομμάτια και κάποια άλλα ημιτελή, τα οποία αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι ηχογραφήθηκαν με τη βοήθεια ενός μικρόφωνου για κλήσεις skype!!!! με ήχο που ούτε οι ίδιοι φανταζόντουσαν ότι θα έβγαινε τόσο καλός! Αφιερώστε λοιπόν λίγο χρόνο και ακούστε το βρώμικο-χορευτικό Net Love, με τα πανέμορφα φωνητικά της Froxie και τις βρώμικες κιθάρες του Niki και έπειτα, μπορείτε να περιηγηθείτε στο soundcloud τους για περισσότερη ικανοποίηση, ακούγοντας το Go Fuck και το Got It Right, που φυσάνε!

El Guincho is Pablo Díaz-Reixa, a native of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria living in Barcelona, Spain. Also a member of Coconot, Díaz-Reixa rose to prominence with his 2007 album, Alegranza. His musical style relies heavily on the use of sampling and incorporates elements of afrobeat, dub, tropicália and rock.

To all those at MTV,

I would like to start by thanking you all for the support you have given me over recent years and I am both grateful and flattered by the nominations that I have received for Best Male Artist. The air play given to both the Kylie Minogue and P. J. Harvey duets from my latest album Murder Ballads has not gone unnoticed and has been greatly appreciated. So again my sincere thanks.

Having said that, I feel that it's necessary for me to request that my nomination for best male artist be withdrawn and furthermore any awards or nominations for such awards that may arise in later years be presented to those who feel more comfortable with the competitive nature of these award ceremonies. I myself, do not. I have always been of the opinion that my music is unique and individual and exists beyond the realms inhabited by those who would reduce things to mere measuring. I am in competition with no-one.

My relationship with my muse is a delicate one at the best of times and I feel that it is my duty to protect her from influences that may offend her fragile nature.

She comes to me with the gift of song and in return I treat her with the respect I feel she deserves — in this case this means not subjecting her to the indignities of judgement and competition. My muse is not a horse and I am in no horse race and if indeed she was, still I would not harness her to this tumbrel — this bloody cart of severed heads and glittering prizes. My muse may spook! May bolt! May abandon me completely!

So once again, to the people at MTV, I appreciate the zeal and energy that was put behind my last record, I truly do and say thank you and again I say thank you but no...no thank you.

road to rembetika/Mortika

The R E M B E T I K A, songs that were sung in the poor quarters of Smyrna, Istanbul and the ports of Greece in the late nineteenth century, and became the popular bouzouki music of the 1930s to 1950s, have many parallels with American blues. Like the blues, the rembetika were the music of outsiders, who developed their own slang and their own forms of expression. Road to Rembetika was the first book in English to attempt a general survey of the world of the rembetes who smoked hashish and danced the passionate, introspective zembekiko to release their emotions. An enthusiastic introduction to the subject, it was written by an Australian musician and writer who first came to Greece in 1965 and who has continued to perform and write about Greek music ever since. Gail Holst describes her own initiation into the rembetika, outlines its historical and sociological background, its musical characteristics and instrumentation.

The second part of the book is a collection of rembetika songs translated into English. The text is illustrated with photographs of the period, musical examples and some original manuscripts of the songs.

This fourth edition has been retypeset and amended, and has a new introduction and further song lyrics, and the bibliography and discography have been updated.

A very nice collection of Greek sub-culture songs, mainly made for anyone who is not from Greece. Every song and its lyrics, is translated to English. Containes information on the recording, many pictures and the main instruments that participated, as well as many photos of that era.

It is important to mention about ARKO Records, which is responsible for the remastering and the research done. Charles Howard who compiled the songs and lives in greece and Ted Kendall who made the remastering taking the best available 78s vinyl copies.
